The MuCell Technology is a complete process and equipment technology.
Beginning with the core technical principles developed in MIT’s
Polymer Processing Laboratory, Trexel has created robust commercially
proven products that enable the Microcellular foaming process for injection
molding.
The EX-XXXX Series
Specially designed injectors are attached to the barrel of the extruder
to facilitate the creation of the single phase polymer-gas solution
necessary to create a highly microcellular extrudate.
The Extrusion Pulse Dosing System (EPD)
Permits the precise doing very small amounts of nitrogen for low output processes requiring extremely high levels of consistency.
The MuCell Extrusion Retrofit System
Consists of a specially designed screw and barrel with correct injection ports that can be installed on existing extrusion equipment.
The MuCell Process generally favors high output rates and requires no compromise in output compared to solid processing.
