Commercial application of this breakthrough technology began in earnest during 1995 by Axiomatics Corp., Trexel's predecessor in name. By mid-1995, the level of customer interest in MuCell Technology had increased to the point that Axiomatics needed to expand. Dr Suh approached Alex d'Arbeloff, who at the time was Chairman of the Visiting Committee to the Mechanical Engineering Department at MIT (and later became Chairman of the MIT Corporation), to discuss funding. Mr. d'Arbeloff, the founder, Chairman, and CEO of Teradyne, Inc., took a personal interest in the MuCell technology, assembled a group of prominent business leaders and investors, and subsequently became the Chairman of Trexel. In November of 1995, Mr. d'Arbeloff recruited David Bernstein, a graduate of Harvard Business School with considerable sales, marketing and new product/technology management experience, as President and CEO of Trexel. The company's name was officially changed from Axiomatics to Trexel in June, 1996. Trexel Board of Directors Alex d'Arbeloff, Chairman Timothy Barrows David Bernstein Cyril Meduna Dr. B. J.
