The Series II Trexel® SCF System

Trexel SII SCF(Supercritical Fluid) systems are the latest hardware innovation from Trexel. The systems are designed to enhance the performance of the MuCell microcellular process by providing high pressure, accurately metered mass flow of SCF to MuCell-compatible injection molding and extrusion machines.

In operation, gas is supplied to the SCF system, which pressurizes it to the appropriate level. During the compression process, the gas changes phase to a Supercritical Fluid (SCF) suitable for use in the MuCell process. The SCF system then controls the flow of the SCF, interfacing with other Trexel-supplied components and the plastic equipment to produce the final MuCell product.
